SPECIAL ROADSIDE PROBLEMS

What If the Lug Nuts Will Not Come Off?

The tire is flat, but one or more lug nuts are seized, over-tightened, swollen, stripped, or blocked by a missing wheel-lock key.

☎ Call Speedy RoadsideOpen 24 hours Monday through Friday

What to do right now

  1. 1Stop using a wrench that slips or rounds the lug nut
  2. 2Check whether one fastener is a patterned wheel lock
  3. 3Call with the vehicle, affected wheel, number of stuck lug nuts, and exact location

COMMON SIGNS

Does this match your problem?

  • The factory wrench will not fit
  • The wrench fits but the lug nut will not turn
  • A lug nut is rounded or visibly damaged
  • A wheel-lock key is missing, cracked, or slipping

HOW WE MAY HELP

Roadside service options

  • Assessment of ordinary, swollen, stripped, seized, and locking lug nuts
  • Specialized removal attempts when access and condition allow safe work
  • Completion of the spare-tire change when all hardware can be safely removed

IMPORTANT LIMITS

When roadside service may not be enough

Removal is not guaranteed. Cross-threaded, broken, recessed, severely seized, over-torqued, or damaged hardware may require a tire shop, drilling, replacement studs, or towing.

ANSWERS BEFORE YOU CALL

Lug Nuts Stuck questions

Is stuck-lug removal part of a normal tire change?

No. Damaged, seized, swollen, or locking hardware requires separate assessment, labor, and price confirmation.

Should I stand on the tire wrench?

No. The wrench can slip, the vehicle can move, and the hardware or wheel stud can break.

What happens if a wheel stud breaks?

The vehicle may be unsafe to drive and will need mechanical repair. Roadside service does not replace wheel studs.
